John Terry retired from professional football at the age of 37 after taking on a coaching role at Aston Villa.
The former captain of Chelsea and England, who won five Premier League titles and a Champions League at Stamford Bridge, shared the news on Instagram today.
Terry, who won 78 games with England, wrote:
"After 23 fantastic years as a player, I decided that now is the time to retire: At age 14, I made my biggest and best decision: to go to Chelsea Football Club, words will never show enough You, how much the club means to me, especially the fans ".
