Facebook Confirms Security Breaches On Over 50 Million Users Acounts!
10:52 PMThe social networking giant Facebook is now in a cyber attack, with a Taiwanese hacker named Zhang Zhiyuan who threatens to hit down Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page on a live broadcast before leaving the plan.
Facebook has now issued an official statement about the attack and said: "In the afternoon of Tuesday, 25 September, our engineering team discovered a security issue that affected approximately 50 million accounts and we did it to protect personal protection."
See the rest of the claim below.
Our research is still in its early stages. However, it is obvious that the attackers utilized a vulnerability in the Facebook code that affected Visa as a function that allows people to see the look of others' profile. This enabled them to steal the Facebook access codes that they could use to get people's accounts. The access token corresponds to the number keys that keep logged in people on Facebook, so they do not have to enter their passwords each time they use the program.
Here is the action we have already taken. First and foremost, we solve security issues and law enforcement agencies.
Secondly, we have redistributed access codes to nearly 50 million accounts that we know have been influenced to protect their security. We also take the precautionary clause to redefine access codes for other accounts of approximately 40 million accounts that have been subject to a "Look Name" lookup last year. As a result, approximately 90 million people will need to access Facebook or any of their applications using Facebook Login. After signing up, people will receive a notification at the top of their news and explain what happened.
Third, the Show feature is temporarily disabled during a full security review.
This attack utilized the complex interaction of several problems in our code. This change came from the change that was made in the video update feature in July 2017, which affected "sedd". Attackers do not just need to find this hole and use it to get the access code so they have to turn this account to others to steal more codes.
Since we have just started our survey, we still need to determine if these accounts have been used incorrectly or if the information has been received. In addition, we do not know who lies behind these attacks or their status. We work hard to better understand these details and update this post when we have more information or if facts change. If we find multiple affected accounts, we will immediately restore your access codes.
Personal data and security are very important and we apologize for that. So we act immediately to protect these accounts and tell users what happened. It is not necessary for anyone to change your password. However, people who have trouble accessing Facebook, for example, have forgotten their password, should visit the help center. If anyone wants to take precautions to leave Facebook, he should visit the "Security and Access" section of the settings. List where people connected to Facebook with one-click access to end them all
